The Vadodara police have initiated an investigation into the case. Medical tests have been ongoing to establish if Chaurasia was intoxicated at the time of the crash. According to Deputy Commissioner Momaya, the car was overspeeding. There is a suspicion of drunken driving. Chaurasia has a valid driving licence.
