A 49-year-old man was arrested for the shocking murder of his wife in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. Two months after the incident, a travel bag containing a skull was found in Virar. The case kicked off when some local officers in Virar found a travel bag containing a human skull.
They started an inquiry into it since it was utterly alarming. The police dug into any missing person reports or leads in the area.
Identification of the victim
By reasonable investigation, she was identified as the wife of the accused. Reports from a missing person were cross-referenced with forensic testing. That led the authorities to identify the victim further.
Arrest of the accused
Following identification, police tracked him down in Nalasopara East, a suburb further down from Mumbai. He was arrested only when crucial bits of evidence directly tied him to the murder.
