Karnataka CM Speaks up on Hampi Gang-Rape Case; Two Arrested, Hunt Continues!

Hampi, Karnataka — In yet another shocking incident near the historic town of Hampi in Karnataka, two women–one a 27-year-old Israeli tourist–were allegedly gang-raped by three men on the night of March 6, 2025. The police acted quickly arresting two suspects, and efforts are currently underway to arrest the third.

While the victims were with three male friends–an American and two Indians–stargazing around Sanapur Lake in Koppal district, close to Hampi, the group was approached by the three men on the motorcycle inquiring about money. An altercation soon broke into a violent fight.

The attackers reportedly assaulted the men, pushing them into a nearby canal. One of the Indians drowned; Bibash was from Odisha. His body was retrieved on March 8. While two men managed to swim away, the other two women were said to be raped by the assailants.
