Haryana BJP Gears Up for Swearing-In Event, PM Modi to Attend on October 17th

Soon to form yet another government in Haryana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) looks toward a third term of government after winning in the 2024 assembly elections. The oath-taking ceremony is slated for October 17 in Panchkula, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This watershed moment gives great hope to the party of consolidating and expansion of its latter-day dominance in a particular state under its auspices.

Election Results and Key Victories

In the recently concluded elections, the BJP won 48 seats out of 90, thus maintaining a facile majority. The Congress, with Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja, and others, got 37 seats, still not a majority. The results stood testimony to PM Modi’s continually surging popularity and newly re-elected Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.

Nayab Singh Saini, who took over from Manohar Lal Khattar as Chief Minister earlier in 2024, played a pivotal role during the campaign for the BJP’s strength. After being elected from the Ladwa constituency, Saini expressed gratitude to the people of Haryana and PM Modi. His style of leadership is expected to fortify the party’s development agenda in the state.

Swearing-in Ceremony

The swearing-in ceremony will take place on October 17 in Panchkula. Besides and alongside PM Modi, a cascade of senior BJP officials and members are likely to be in attendance. The event is perceived to have extended BJP’s reign in the state, which had won consecutive three terms since 2014. Resonating with farmers on welfare, youth employment, and rural development earned Saini the trust of voters for the party’s strong performance.

Several cabinet members will be sworn in, and discussions of the key portfolios are still in progress. Senior party leaders, including Anil Vij, are expected to prominently feature in the new cabinet.

So far, the new BJP government in Haryana has an extended mandate, and is expected to boost infrastructure development, agrarian reform, and generation of employment opportunities for the youth. Especially in assisting the farmers and rural population, the welfare programs of the party won the voters’ confidence.

While under CM Nayab Singh Saini, the government will also work for improved health and education facilities, increased industrial growth, and control over challenges like water management in the state; PM Modi’s government at the Centre is expected to coordinate with the new Haryana government to work out various schemes of national importance at the level of the state.

The BJP’s victory in Haryana and the upcoming swearing-in ceremony mark the continuation of the party’s governance in the state, reflecting the faith that voters have placed in the leadership of CM Nayab Singh Saini and PM Modi. With the new government in place, the focus will shift toward delivering on electoral promises and pushing forward with Haryana’s development agenda.
