Global Laurels: PM Narendra Modi Honoured with Kuwait’s Highest Civilian Award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored with Kuwait’s highest civilian award, ‘The Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer,’ making him the 20th recipient of an international award from a foreign country.

This award underlines the strengthening of diplomatic ties between India and Kuwait and reflects PM Modi’s stature as a statesman across the globe.

The Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer

‘The Order of Mubarak Al-Kabeer’ is Kuwait’s most prestigious knighthood order; it is awarded to heads of state, foreign sovereigns, and members of royal families as a symbol of friendship and good will.

This honour has also found its way to several famous global persons, affirming Kuwait’s commitment to strengthen international relations.

Ceremony Details

The award was bestowed during the Prime Minister’s two-day participation in Kuwait by His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait.

The ceremony, which took place at the Bayan Palace, Kuwait City, was attended by dignitaries from both nations, including the PM of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabbah.

This event marks the beginning of another chapter in the India-Kuwait relations based on mutual respect and cooperation.

Strengthening India-Kuwait Relations

Modi’s visit to Kuwait has added much to the relationship between the two countries: trade, energy, and cultural exchange.

Energy security, investment opportunities, among others, were discussed during the visit, which concentrated on economic ties. An important supplier of oil to India, Kuwait holds a major role in the Indian energy scenario.

Leaders also discussed regional security aspects inasmuch as working together on stabilizing the Gulf area would be concerned.

International Notches Gained by PM Modi

Adding to the ever-expanding list of international accolades bestowed upon him, this honour from Kuwait further reflects the influence PM Modi carries and his leadership globally on different fronts.

Earlier in 2024, he received the ‘Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados,’ as well as Guyana’s ‘Order of Excellence,’ in recognition of efforts put forth by PM Modi in strengthening ties with Caribbean nations.

Besides, PM Modi was awarded Dominica’s ‘Dominica Award of Honour’ for his outstanding contributions in international relations.

In November 2024, Nigeria conferred upon him the ‘Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger’, acknowledging his role in bolstering the India-Nigeria relationship.

All of these awards speak to the importance PM Modi accords to global partnerships and forward-reaching initiatives in foreign policy.

Internationally, PM Modi’s string of recognitions speaks of how he has anchored the foundations of India’s greater global role.

Under strategic engagement across continents, he promoted economic cooperation while dealing with global issues like climate change and terrorism.

The conferring of Kuwait’s ‘The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer’ on Modi not only recognizes his personal contribution but also reveals the gradually elevated stature of India in attending to global affairs.

This award to PM Modi from Kuwait confirms the strengthening of India-Kuwait relations and highlights his international diplomatic engagements.

As India enhances its international partnerships, these recognitions are a testament to the increasing impact the nation has, as well as to the effectiveness of foreign policy under the leadership of PM Modi.
