Delhi, January 14, 2025 — The revelation from Delhi Police that the juvenile-contractor of a number of hoax bomb threats to schools was associated with an NGO allegedly with political links set the political set-up of Delhi on fire. With this, the BJP ironed out a series of queries for AAP regarding the affliction of this connection.
Investigation Traced the Juvenile’s Role
Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order) Madhup Tiwari said that over 400 schools, since 12 February, 2024, received bomb threat emails. The investigation was greatly hindered due to the advanced technological means of the perpetrator through Virtual Private Networks (VPNs); on January 8, 2025, a breakthrough came in the investigation, allowing the authorities to zero in on a juvenile.
“Through forensic examination of his phone, we found out that the person had sent emails to more than 400 schools,” Tiwari stated. “We are probing if there is a conspiracy behind this activity or not.”
Alleged NGO Political Affiliation
Further investigation into the juvenile’s background revealed that one parent of his is connected with organization associated with an NGO credibly with “deep ties” with a political party. The NGO had frequently questioned the extradition of Afzal Guru, the convict in the 2001 parliament attack.
“We are probing if the NGO connected to a political party has a hand in this,” Tiwari stated. “We are also gauging if any political undertones to the issue intend to spark some unrest in Delhi.”
BJP’s Allegations and Demand for Clarification
Soon after these findings surfaced, the BJP believed the political party concerned to be the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi said, “We all know that AAP has linkages with NGOs that opposed Afzal Guru’s hanging. Who are those who belong to NGOs? Are they linked with AAP? I request Arvind Kejriwal to clarify if the party has any linkage with them.”
Trivedi also questioned the upbringing and circumstances under which the young person has grown up, believing that his parents and NGOs might camp for disturbing the law and order situation in Delhi for political gain.
AAP’s Response and Concerns Over Law and Order

The Aam Aadmi Party has previously noted that the law and order situation in Delhi needs attention, especially post the school bomb threats. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi criticized the handling of security by the Central government as “The law and order situation in Delhi has never been so heinous before. The BJP-ruled central government has miserably failed in its only duty to protect the people of Delhi.”
Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal further added, “The people of Delhi have never seen law and order in such a poor state before. Amit Shahji should come and answer the people of Delhi.”
Investigation Underway and Public Safety Measures
The investigation from the Delhi police continues into the juvenile’s actions and any ensuing conspiracies of the NGO and political units involved. Authorities assured the people that measures are in progress to maintain a painless and secure environment in schools and prevent such incidents in the future.
The series of prank bomb threats was extremely crippling and spread widespread panic among students, parents, and the educational institutions of Delhi. The identification of the culprit will be a great breakthrough in solving the crisis, yet the political connotations and alluded associations only complicate the story further.
The ongoing investigation will continue to see security threats and political accusations to the fore in public discourse in Delhi. Pleas of cooperation, disclosure, and accountability are firmly called out from political parties and organizations related to their accountability, in view of safety and public trust.
